Our Vision

To greatly reduce the number of first responders and/or service members who fall prey to addiction, divorce or suicide due to the effects of post-traumatic stress. To show our protectors there is a way out from under the control of Post-Traumatic Stress that they can truly thrive, rather than simply survive.

Testimonials

“While I will admit, I believed initially this course would be redundant of the other training I have received as a Deputy in PEER Support, I was pleasantly surprised. The Trauma Recovery Course through FrontLine First offered me valuable information, insight, and helpful resources that provided healing to prior trauma. I enjoyed the spiritual aspects of the course as well, and I think the course would also be valuable for those who are not spiritual.”

-Deputy, 7 years

“It’s been 3 years, but thanks to this course I no longer have nightmares.”

-Deputy, involved in OIS

“I went to the class to gain information and tools on how to recognize trauma and deal with trauma for my partners, my wife and myself. My wife is a dispatcher and has had many critical incidents ranging from an officer’s death on her radio to family members passing. I have served in the army with a combat tour and have been in law enforcement for over six years with trauma ranging from losing my brothers in combat to family members passing. I walked away from the course realizing the trauma from my past had affected me more than I had thought, but the key word is “had.” I learned from the course how to heal and get past my trauma. The major part was simply admitting it. In closing I want to thank you again for the help I didn’t know I needed. I know what I learned will help me in my career, help me serve the community better, help me be a better partner to my co-workers and most importantly be a better husband to my wife. I hope this course reaches more people in the future especially people like me that think they are not affected by trauma. Again, thank you.”

-Deputy, 6 years

“I registered for the REBOOT First Responders course through FrontLine First with an open-mind, understanding it was not going to be a typical law-enforcement driven tactical course. I approached the course as more of a self-reflection of my life experiences on and off the job that have impacted how I not only view life, but how I strive to live life. It was refreshing to be able to just exhale all the emotional trauma I had suppressed inside myself, and be able to know that I was not alone in how I dealt with and/or felt  about critical incidents I directly experienced in my career. The coordinators facilitated the course in a way that made me feel comfortable in sharing my personal views and taught the curriculum that was simple and easy to follow.”

-Sergeant, 17 years

“I realize now that my anger and impatience had returned and I was taking it out on my family. Thanks to this Reboot for First Responders course and FrontLine First I have learned how to better handle myself and am working through the trauma I have experienced in a healthier way. Even my family has noticed the change in me.”

-Deputy, 15 years

After 20 years on the job as a Fire Captain, I watched my fun filled life I started 20 years prior almost completely disappear. I noticed I was no longer enjoying life, I was isolating myself from my family, quick tempered, walking around as a ticking time bomb ready to explode and having to control everything. My wife filed for divorce and I was at the lowest point in my life.  I realized I could no longer to continue to harbor all these emotions that this job had installed in me. I heard about Front Line First from my divorcing wife and she recommended I look into it. Front Line change my life. Meeting with this group help me realize I was not alone.

It takes the strong to step forward and seek help. Through Front Line First I was able to learn coping skills, my trigger points and how to recognize and shed the trauma we all endure in public safety.

My life has changed in more way than I could eve write here. My marriage is on the mend and I am able to communicate with my wife a lot better. I feel like a truckload on bricks has been lifted off of me and I can laugh again.
